My Favourite Role of the Week
This week, I think my favourite has to be the Hockey Research & Development Summer Internship with the Pittsburgh Penguins. So many of you reached out this week when I shared this role on socials; and I don’t blame you! It’s a super intriguing role with an awesome franchise.
Advice of the Week
This week’s advice isn’t revolutionary, but it’s surprisingly still something I encounter at least once a week while conducting job interviews.
If a recruiter or hiring manager asks if you have any questions; always have a question(s) for them. It’s the simplest way to show engagement and interest. You can come prepared with some deeper questions, you can ask general questions about the company and culture, or you can even just ask for clarification on something they said earlier in the interview.
Is it a little silly that recruiters expect you to come with questions? Sure, maybe. Maybe not. But the reality is that it’s human nature to want the other person to seem interested and curious - the easiest way for you to exude that is to ask them good questions!
