My Favourite Role of the Week
I’ll keep this one brief; my favourite role this week is Coordinator, Digital Content for USA Hockey. This role is based in Colorado Springs, offers an annual salary of $55,000 and provides a great opportunity for a young creative to work within a great organization. Be sure to check this one out!
Advice of the Week
You guys have been responding very positively to the Advice of the Week, so I’m going to keep it coming!
This week’s advice is a little more perspective-oriented than some of the tangible resume or networking advice in weeks past; but I think it’s just as important.
Just because you’ve worked somewhere for a couple years, or have stayed in one industry, does not mean you’re stuck on that path forever.
Is it easy to transition career paths? Not always. Are you going to immediately land your dream job elsewhere? Probably not. But I’ve had way too many conversations lately with people who have said “ah I’ve been working in XYZ trade for 3 years, I don’t think there’s a way out” is crazy.
If you want it, go do it. Apply to jobs in this newsletter. Learn skills on YouTube. Volunteer with your local team on the weekend to get your name out there. DO NOT let your own perception of “career paths” stop you from chasing what you want.
