Happy Monday everyone,

I hope you’re all enjoying the nice fall weather as we inch toward hockey season! This week I’ve got 56 jobs for you to check out, including some super unique ones!

For those of you receiving this newsletter for the first time - you’ll find all the jobs listed below, sorted by Full-Time vs Part-Time/Internship, and you can click the job title links to apply directly to the roles you like.

My Favourite Role of the Week

Any time there’s a role open with the Hockey Hall of Fame, it’s going to have a good shot at being my favourite of the week. I’ve had the chance to work closely with the HHOF on a couple events and partnerships over the past couple years, and always appreciate how they run the business.

Their role this week is Internship: HHOF Diversity in Hockey Program, which of course only makes this opportunity even more special. If you’re a recent graduate looking for a role in Toronto, I highly suggest applying to this one.

Advice of the Week

Last week I wrote some advice on resumes, so this week I want to write about networking. You guys know how big of a buzzword it is online and in class these days, but for good reason - it’s one of the most important things you can do for your career.

Now, not all of us are chatty extroverts who can walk up to a stranger and find ourselves in the 30 minute conversation about god knows what; but that’s okay. Networking to me has always been about finding common ground, talking points you’ll both be interested in. If you know you’re going to an event that Joe will be at, take the time to check out Joe’s Linkedin - maybe you went to the same school, maybe he also likes your favourite team, maybe he’s connected with your neighbour - any common ground can open to the door to an important conversation.

Another point I want to make here, is don’t just connect with someone once and think your job is done. Networking is relationship building. If you talk to someone for 5 minutes at a game, or send them 2 messages on Linkedin, there’s a chance they won’t remember you.
Send a follow up a week after you met saying how great it was to chat and you hope to stay in touch. Forward them a link when there is news about something the two of you discussed. Anything you can do to nurture the relationship and provide them value will go a very long way.

ICYMI: This week’s podcast guest was the wonderful Patrice Whiffen. We talked about her 13 years with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, her 15 cumulative years with OHL teams, and of course, spent a lot of time discussing PrimeTime Sports and their upcoming conference in November!

Be sure to tune into the full conversation here, and to watch for an upcoming giveaway between PrimeTime Sports and myself 👀
