48 New Job Openings within Hockey - Monday December 16th 2024

Happy Monday everybody,

I’ve got 48 new hockey jobs to share with you all this week, but before I do, I want to say thank you to all those who came out to the New York Islanders TeamWork Online Career Fair last Tuesday at UBS Arena!

It was awesome to get to meet and chat with so many of you, and honestly, last week was a bit of a pinch-me moment to say this brand was able to work with an NHL team and Nike in the same week…
Thank you all for making this the coolest side-project I ever could’ve imagined. Seriously. None of this would be possible without you guys reading the emails, applying to jobs, and reaching out to chat. I appreciate you all 🤝

My Favourite Role of the Week

I know this is supposed to be 1 role each week, but my newsletter, my rules. Here’s 2.

CCM Hockey is looking for a Brand Activator in Ontario. Now some of you might be wondering what a Brand Activator really is? Well, a couple months ago I had Abby Budgeon on the podcast, who is CCM’s Manager of Brand Activations & Events. Check out this convo; no one can describe the role better than the actual Manager!

Howies Hockey is looking for a Graphic Design & Brand Marketing Specialist. The guys over at Howies are awesome. When they post a role like this, you have to check it out, because it means they are up to some cool stuff.

Advice of the Week

My advice this week is a simple one, that not many people exercise. I think it’s so important to have what you do, or you passions, in your social media bios.

If a friend from high school or someone I just met comes to my social pages, I want them to know exactly what I do and exactly what I’m into. It gives us a talking point, it may give us common ground, and it hopefully sticks with them.

When someone asks me, “Nick are you good at Facebook Ads?” the answer is no, but I can point them to a friend I recently saw post about it.
When I need graphic design help, the first people that come to mind are the guys who always post their stuff and have their business and their portfolio in their social bios.
Even planning wedding stuff right now with Sam, I keep saying to her “oh I saw so-and-so say that they’re doing wedding videography/wedding planning/selling flowers now.”

Social media is a tool for us to be able to stay on the top of someone’s mind. That doesn’t mean post 15 stories a day about your artwork; but it means properly position yourself and your skills so that when someone has a question or idea, you may pop into their mind as someone knowledgable on the subject!
